Barnwell County Arts Council

During the 2010-2011 school year, students in Blackville and Williston particpated in creating murals.  Russ Petty, Artist in Residence, guided fifth grade students at Kelly Edwards Elementary in creating a tribute to local artist Jim Harrison.  In Blackville, the Junior High students and the students at Blackville Hilda High School created murals to enhance school spirit and to show their "HAWK" pride.  The Barnwell County Arts Council wishes to express its appreciation to each school's faculty, staff, and students for a tremendos job!  The Barnwell County Arts Council also wishes to express its gratitude to the South Carolina Arts Commission as the projects at each of the above named schools was "funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts."
